[DEEP Program] Inception Ceremony: The Saemaul Mindset Development Experience Exchange Partnership(SMDEEP) programme has launched on July 16 in Pretoria, South Africa.In the morning of July 16, 2018 The Saemaul Mindset Development Experience Exchange Partnership(SMDEEP) programme has launched in Pretoria, South Africa. Ambassador Park Jong-dae(The Embassy of the Republic of Korea to the Republic of South Africa) announced the launching this program and Acting Director General Ms Rendani Sadiki gave comments on the SMDEEP Programme. Before launching this programme, Project Manager(PM), Korean side, Mr. Lee Kyong Koo had presentation regarding SMDEEP Programme in South Africa, and Project Manager(PM), South African side, Dr. Swartz had presentation regarding The CRDP(Comprehensive Rural Development Program) Programme.The aim of the DEEP Programme is to change the mindset and build the capacity of rural communities participating in the Comprehensive Rural Development Programme(CRDP) and National Rural Youth Service Corps(NARYSEC) youth of the Republic of South Africa though the Saemaul DEEP Programme based on the experience of Korea's Saemaul Undong(New Village Movement). The contribution from the Korean counterpart will be made in the three(3) major programme components: 1) Projecting master plan for Saemaul training and education in South Africa; 2) Development of curriculum and course material for Saemaul training in NARYSEC; 3) Extending field consultancy services to the two(2) pilot villages - Amajingqi Village, Willowvale in the Amathole District, Eastern Cape State, and Makolokoeng Village in the Thabo Mofutsanyane District, Free State. The programme project will be carried out through to 2018 by the end of 2021.
