Prime Minister's Speech:

The first of all I will tell you about Saemaul Undong briefly, at the beginning our Prime minister Choummaly SAYASONE attended meeting and visited Korea and he found that Saemaul Undong very similar with SamSang policy. So, he requests Korea government to introduce Saemaul Undong in Laos, the most important of Saemaul Undong theory are self-help, diligent and cooperation, I very concerned about Saemaul Undong word ¡°We can do it¡± due to Korea want us to help ourselves and I will request all of

you follows;

• Preserve the things what we have and extend continually, find market and know how to subsistence and survive.
• Mind changing and changing lifestyle, village people
• Please educate the children concentrate on education rather than other worthless.
• Village guard, security and soldier should protect and keep village peace and cooperation each other.
• Saemaul Undong want us to participate and try to make village help themselves, we have irrigation system, access road and potentials then we should produce as much as and sell to market and request to SMU project support to establish chicken farm, Pig farm and cattle farm be the model in Savannakhet.
• 13 villages in Savannakhet should compete each other to develop village become the best model of development and Thakhamliane should protect champion become number one of development model in Savannakhet.
• We have power and capacity should work hard to develop our village more and more.
• Eco park is more important as well please do not cut the tree and destroy ecosystem, try to preserve this area for education of student and relaxing place for village people.
• Korea and Laos has good relationship longtime, now I request all ministry have attended meeting here include leader all step from province through village leader please support SMU project, establish production group, order and suggest villagers doing project activities all the field.
• Extend number of member to make village strong
• Request to all authorities to support and help SMU project especially ministry of commercial and industry try to find market for farmers

At the Rice Seed Center, Prime Minister had watched the Drying machine and Cleaning machine and commented, that "it is good

machine and try to use it high effectively and if the project not yet training, please do use, it will be damaged for running activity and try to make it sustainable. Province and district authorities, coordinators please farmers and villagers understand how to use it."

Then prime minister took rice before and after cleaning to compare how it different and show to other people surrounding. Then he walking into Eco-Park and said something, this area suitable for relaxing and seeing beautiful tree around here and it¡¯s also become study place of student and lastly, order to villager do not cut tree and wild vine in this area to protect and preserve ecosystem and make it evergreen.

Finally all delegates visited Weaving association of Lahanam village. PM have talked about weaving production and sales and he also bought some products from the shop.

It was first time that Prime Minister, 5 Ministers and one Deputy Minister of the Ministries visited all together at KOICA SMU village.
