A women delegation from the Lao People's Democratic Republic takes part in a Fellowship Program which is scheduled from
September 6 to September 12, 2015. The delegation composed of 10 Lao women leaders - two from the Ministry of Agriculture
and Forestry; five from the Vientiane Provincial Government; and three from the Savannakhet Provincial Government - arrived
in Suwon on September 6, 2015. The outline of the Program is as follows:
1. Program Title: Fellowship Program for Capacity Development of Women in Lao
Rural Community
2. Duration: September 6(Sun.) – September 12(Sat.), 2015(7 days)
3. Objectives
- To enlighten the value and role of agriculture and rural development in the context
international and national development;
- To share the knowledge and experience in empowering the role of women in rural
community as well as agricultural and rural development, especially Korea's
Saemaul Undong(New Community Development) Program;
- To help develop capacity of women in agricultural rural development in Lao PDR
- To help construct network and partnership with Lao PDR for efficient;
implementation of the Integrated Rural Development Project with Saemaul
Undong(SMU)¡¯s Participatory Approach in Lao PDR

- Two(2) invitees from DAEC, MFA
- Five(5) invitees from Vientiane Province

8-2. Qualification for Application in terms of profession
- Two(2) officials in charge of HRD and/or WID programs in MFA
- Eight(8) from the local governments of Vientiane and Savannakhet Province,
the agricultural and forestry offices(PAPO and DAPO), Women Unions, and
rural communities either woman leaders or officials who work in the area of
agricultural and rural development in each province
