Study Tour for the Top Management of the Quirino Provincial Government, the Republic of the Philippines

Honorable Junie E. Cua, Provincial Governor of Quirino, visits Korea, leading the Special Study Tour Delegation of the Provincial Top Management. Entrusted by the Korea International Cooperation Agency(KOICA), the Korea Institute for rural Development (KIRD) designed the Program as the last one of the three(3) short-term invitational courses under the Quirino Integrated Agricultural Development Project (QIADP). The Project which aims to develop a model of integrated agricultural development in rural area of the Philippines. In close collaboration with the Government of Quirino Province, the KIRD implements the Project which is comprised of a number of sub-projects including Agro-forestry development and livestock, vegetable and mushroom cultivation, micro credit and farm-to-market road improvement.
Six of the top management executive of the Quirino Provincial Government were invited to the program and the Philippine Study Tour Delegation led by the Governor himself includes Honorable Dakila Carlo E. Cua, Congressman of the Republic of the Philippines; Mrs. May G. Calaunan, Vice Provincial Governor: Mrs. Perla Olay, Provincial Board Member; Mrs. Maria Angela E. Cua, Regional Tourism Chair; and Ms. Elizabeth S. Nicolas, Provincial Administrator.
The Special Study Tour Program is tailored to the requirement of the Quirino provincial top management and plan to help deepen their understanding on the development of Korea's agriculture and rural development, especially eco-agricultural development and Saemaul Undong(New Community Movement) and to broaden their perspectives on future agricultural and rural community development. By sharing the knowledge and experience in agricultural and rural development of Korea, it is expected that the Philippine Delegation will become familiar with the paradigm and mechanism of Korea's rural development program foster their leadership and stewardship as the top management executive of the province.
The Study Tour Program consists of special lectures and discussions on major issues in the area of agricultural and rural development as well as Korea¡¯s experience in those issues, and field visit and study on the sites in various destinations of Gyeonggi and Jeju region related to the target subjects. The program will add an extra dimension by including some cultural program for deepening mutual understanding and building partnership among the participants and between Philippine and Korea.
